The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Apparition was founded in Gaillae, France, on Christmas day, 1832 by Emile de Vialar who is now a canonised saint.The motto of the school ONWARD WITH HONOUR should inspire us in our lives, at home, in school and in all dealings with others.
The four symbols of the EMBLEM are as follows :

S.J. - Stands for St. Joseph, Patronof the Congregation and of the School.

INTRODUCTION:
St. Joseph's Matriculation Higher Secondary School was established in 1982 by the sisters of St. Joseph of
the Apparition at Assisi Nagar, Madhavaram. The school is a minority school, consequently receives no Government or private aid and the school fees is its only income. The fees has to be adjusted from time to time to keep with the rising costs and salaries. It is a Co-Ed. School and at present offers from L.K.G. to Std. XII. The aim of the Institute is to give students, irrespective of creed, caste and place of origin, a solid, well-rounded formation for life as truly integrated personalities, capable of shouldering responsibilities towards God, their families, their country and their fellowmen.
